Part of the O2 Arena complex, Meridian Gardens is a large space that originally provided a gateway for visitors arriving by boat for the Millennium Experience in the year 2000. It's surroundings have long since become messy and uninviting. The gardens now play host to occasional events and exhibitions. They are also home to the O2's helipad. Confusingly, the region of the Greenwich Peninsula being redeveloped to the south-east of the dome is also known as Meridian Gardens.
