The Meridian Surgery started life in January 1987 in a hired portacabin in a car park next to the nearby Meridian Centre. Its first purpose built premises, were opened nearby on Meridian Way in April 1989. Eventually the Surgery became too big for its premises and as an interim measure, relocated to an edge of town location in Roundhay Avenue. On 29 February 2008, it moved into this suite of portacabins in the Meridian Centre car park,. Eventually, in February 2012, the surgery moved into a new building (the Anchor Healthcare Centre), on the site of its earlier building in Meridian Way as tenants of Meridian Medical Services.
