Sheffield Park Station is the southern terminus of the world famous steam railway, the Bluebell Line. Over the years, there have been a number of Meridian marks in different locations – not all of them on the actual Line. This one is believed to be the oldest and probably dates from 1984. When the Post Office issued a set of four commemorative stamps on 26 June that year, the Bluebell Railway issued its own special first day cover. These were conveyed on the line and stamped to this effect, before being cancelled with a special hand-stamp at a mobile post office parked on the Meridian Line itself at Peacehaven.
